Digital testing for clinical neuropsychological assessment

The Vienna Test System offers a large portfolio of tests for all relevant neuropsychological functions and subfunctions. All tests meet the guidelines of the “Gesellschaft für Neuropsychologie”, Germany’s leading association of clinical neuropsychologists

Kognitive Basistestung (COGBAT)

Cognitive Basic Assessment test set (COGBAT)

The Cognitive Basic Assessment test set (COGBAT) allows you to determine the cognitive status of individuals with neurological and/or psychological impairments. It includes a variety of established and renowned tests such as the Trail Making Test (TMT-L), the Tower of London (TOL-F) and the perception and attention functions battery (WAF).

If you would also like to try out VTS online, register here for our demo version without any obligations. We invite you to familiarise yourself with the practical administration in VTS.

In addition, of course, you can select from all other available tests to put together your very own test collection. VTS helps you get answers in a wide variety of use cases:

Assessment of neurological impairments
Determine a person’s cognitive and affective status individually and objectively in order to identify their current state of functioning. VTS also supports follow-up assessments, planning and evaluation of rehabilitation measures or determination of fitness to drive.
Example: early detection of dementia (CFD)

Psychiatric examinations
Psychiatric patients often display impairments in the areas of attention, memory and executive functioning. Assessing these impairments by means of neuropsychological tests plays an important part in verifying a diagnosis (even in the early, prepsychotic stages of the illness) and planning therapy.
Example: ADHD in adults (CFADHD) or schizophrenic symptoms (CFSD)

Occupational reintegration after accident or illness
In addition to neuropsychological and clinical tests, the VTS also offers work-related testing (such as FCB5 and PRIO)
Psychological assessment provides for a resource-oriented assessment of work-related, psychological and intellectual capacity. Alongside ability assessment (e.g. with reaction tests), the personality profile is also an important area that is addressed. That is why we provide tests to assess social competence, flexibility, team skills, communication and cooperation skills, willingness to learn and stress-related behavior.

You can find the entire range of tests in our VTS Marketplace

Just filter according to the dimensions relevant to your use case, such as attention tests, memory, executive functioning or sensorimotor functions.

Advantages of using VTS in clinical neuropsychology:

  • Tests – including screening tests and test sets – have been specifically devised to assess cognitive deficits in neurological, psychological and psychiatric disorders.
  • The wide range of cognitive ability tests assesses both basic functions and more complex cognitive abilities.
  • Tests can be flexibly compiled into a personalized test battery that can be saved and reused.
  • Your own tests can be integrated into VTS.
  • Tests and test forms with varying degrees of difficulty reduce floor and ceiling effects.
  • Parallel test forms prevent practice, memory and learning effects in follow-up testing.
  • Ergonomic input devices ensure ease of use, especially for clients with physical disabilities.
  • A sophisticated range of norms accounts for disorders, age, gender and education level.
  • The large variety of available languages enables testing in respondent’s mother tongue.
  • Automatic and error-free test scoring makes results easy to interpret.

The Vienna Test System and CogniPlus

In addition to the Vienna Test System, we are offering you CogniPlus – an empirically based training program for attention functions, executive functioning, memory, neglect/visual field, spatial processing and visuomotor abilities.

Kognitives Training mit CogniPlus

The theory-led “Test – Train – Evaluate” concept

CogniPlus was developed in close conjunction with the VTS. This means diagnosis and training build on one another. First, neuropsychological testing is used to determine the training needs and goals, then a training plan is developed and implemented in CogniPlus. Subsequent training progress is then measured again using the VTS.
The corresponding tests and training programs are based on the same clearly defined theoretical constructs. However, the tests and cognitive training programs use different tasks. This enables a reliable distinction to be made between the material-specific learning effect and the desired training effect.
