Biomarkers Instead of Questionnaires: New Approaches in the Evaluation of Traffic Psychology Measures.
This webinar explores a groundbreaking study from the Czech Republic where fMRI technology was used to objectively measure the effectiveness of psychological driver improvement programs. Discover a new era of evaluation beyond self-report.

Speaker: Veronika Kurečková, Head of Psychology Department - Transport Research Centre Czech Republic

Traffic safety requires effective rehabilitation programs. But how can their effectiveness be measured objectively?

An innovative approach from the Czech Republic provides the first biological evidence: using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), researchers examined the impact of a psychological intervention on high-risk drivers.

Brain responses to social stimuli were compared before and after an empathy induction. The result: after the intervention, high-risk drivers showed stronger responses than the control group – indicating altered socio-emotional processing.

This webinar presents the groundbreaking study and explores new avenues for evaluating driver improvement programs – beyond traditional questionnaires and recidivism statistics.
