Application
Measures the dimension of spatial ability – that is the ability to picture objects and if necessary rotate them in one's mind.
Forming a three-dimensional image of objects that are depicted in two dimensions and switching between different views is important is important for workers in many professions (e.g. architects, long-distance drivers, construction workers, air traffic controllers, pilots and surgeons). The test is presented adaptively: this provides optimum assessment of each person’s potential. Since it assesses work-related abilities, A3DW is used in manufacturing & safety assessments.
Administration
Each item involves a test cube and six comparison cubes. Each cube has different patterns on each of its six sides but only three are visible. Using the patterns that are visible, the respondent must decide whether one of the six comparison cubes is identical to the test cube.
