Intelligent and practical combinations of tests - SCHUHFRIED test sets

A test set is a combination of individual tests or test dimensions that are administered together in a single session, like a test battery. They are used to answer assessment queries, for example concerning fitness to drive, suitability for a particular job, neuropsychological impairment or potential for elite sport.

Test sets differ from test batteries in three main ways:

  • Test sets are available as a readymade package (individual adaptations also possible).
  • Each test set has a cross-test scoring system and norms and has been validated.
  • For the test sets new tests are developed and existing tests adapted (e.g. in length or difficulty). A test set is therefore precision-tailored to a query; testing time and international usability have also been taken into account.

The advantages of a test set:

  • Tests are already selected and combined, saving you time.
  • You can be certain that you are putting together the right personality and ability factors and tests/test forms for an assessment query.
  • Overall scoring and report simplify interpretation of the test results.
  • Innovative new developments, e.g. for cognitive basic assessment (COGBAT) or assessment of neuropsychological dimensions that are relevant for early detection of dementia and neurocognitive disorders (CFD).

SCHUHFRIED tests - classical or modern – always scientifically high quality

Whether classical constructs, procedures based on item response theory, adaptive tests, tests developed according to innovative test theories (e.g. objective personality tests) or procedures designed to measure psychomotor characteristics accurately and efficiently: at SCHUHFRIED you will find an entire spectrum of tests for psychological assessment!

Classical paradigms

The 120 tests include many proven and established procedures and constructs, including the Tower of London (TOL-F), the Trail Making Test (TMT-L), the Block Tapping Test (CORSI), testing based on the Big Five construct (BFSI), the Fleischmann Paradigma (MLS), the Mackworth Clock Test (VIGIL), the Stroop Test (STROOP) and the Eysenck Personality Profiler (EPP6).

Attention, memory and executive functions

With the WAF battery, SCHUHFRIED offers you a unique solution for all aspects of attention: Alertness, sustained attention, focused attention, divided attention, neglect, spatial attention, selective attention, vigilance.
The requirement is carried out at both auditory and visual processing levels. In addition to the WAF, we also offer classics like VIGIL, DT, RT, SIGNAL and COG.

It goes without saying that there is also a wide range of specific memory tests. Our processes enable us to cover the areas of working memory, short-term memory and long-term memory. The test materials are both verbal and figural. Typical examples include: VISGED, NBN, NBV, CORSI, FGT, FNA

Our customers can also choose from a variety of methods with respect to executive functions. Whether figural fluency, interference, cognitive flexibility, perseveration, planning ability, response inhibition, updating, reasoning or task switching: we have the right tests for you! For example: INHIB, SWITCH, PAD, TOL-F, TMT-L, 5POINT.

Intelligence tests and intelligence test batteries

SCHUHFRIED has intelligence test batteries and special intelligence tests based on various intelligence theories and suitable for a wide range of target groups. You can choose from language-free or abstract materials, item materials directly related to everyday professional life, easy or challenging materials.

Examples from our range include: INSBAT-2, INT, SMART.

We also offer an interesting range of solutions focusing on classical intelligence factors for more advanced assessments: complex problem solving behavior, critical/rational thinking, classical intelligence factors – determined using adaptive tests – or memory and learning strategies.

Psychomotricity

Psychomotricity is of relevance in questions relating to eye-hand coordination or reaction ability under time pressure, for example. Tests that measure these ability play an important role not only in road transport, HR, sports and clinical neuropsychology, but also in the diagnosis of motor development disorders in children. These tests are therefore suitable as a basis for the planning of therapeutic measures.

The following are suitable, for instance: DT, 2HAND, MLS, RT, SMK

Tests with precise time measurement

Tests with precise time measurement are well represented in the Vienna Test System. For many factors and abilities, such as attention, cognitive flexibility and reaction ability, for example, it is not the number of correct answers which is the decisive criterion, but the speed with which the questions are processed. Even the smallest differences in the reaction time can cause significant shifts in standardized test scores.

Examples: RT, DT, INHIB, WAF.

Modern test theory: Adaptive tests

In adaptive tests, the subject is not given all the tasks, but only those corresponding to his or her level. This provides information about how pronounced the characteristic being measured is in the test person. The main advantages of adaptive testing are time savings, more accurate measurement and more significant results in very strong or very weak subjects.

Examples of adaptive tests include: AMT, ATAVT, ELST, INSBAT-2, VISGED.

Innovative tests: personality tests (objective and forced-choice) and multimedia/simulations/animations

In the case of objective personality tests, the subject processes tasks similar to those in performance tests. Conclusions can be drawn about the subject's personality depending on the way he or she processes the tasks. In contrast to personality questionnaires, objective personality tests are less easy to falsify or answer according to social desirability.

Examples: AHA, MOI

In a forced-choice test format, the subject has to sort three different statements which are all describing socially desirable traits. This way, the individual has to prioritize which statement fits best.

Example: FCB5

Computer-aided tests allow actual, often everyday situations to be represented by means of simulations and animations. These may include scenes from road traffic or work situations, for example. SCHUHFRIED offers procedures that are deployed mainly in the areas of traffic psychology and HR.

Examples: WRBTV, ATAVT, SMART, MTA, COMPRO.
